I think I need an intervention

Ok, I think I need an intervention!
I have to admit I have an addiction,
It is for Olympic competition.

It happens every two years approximately,
When I cheer for the USA compusivly,
Everything from skiing to curling,
Even summer events, from morning to night.

Now Vancouver is coming to an end,
So I have to wait for London in 2012,
From Anton Ono to Micheal Phelps,
The shift will not be hard to make.

Thank goodness World Cup Soccer is this summer!

What do you do in the winter?

Well, what do you do in the winter? If you've hurt your foot and something you are way obsessive about is on, you watch the Olympics, once every four years. Did you know that you can watch Olympics on normal channel 5 from 2pm to 2am with little interruption? I LOVE the Olympics. I was addicted way before Salt Lake City in 2002, but that only made it worse. So all I have to say is... it's only 16 days and GO USA!

Garbage Day

Today I pulled out of the driveway,
I noticed that every house was decorated
with a large black can...
It was a beautiful sight.
The only problem was that it was late in the day,
And my house was the only one bare this week.
Anyone else seem to continually to forget garbage day, too?

Phone Call from My Favorite Missionary

Yesterday, while traveling to Panama, Elder Jeff Billings was able to call from Atlanta for about 22 minutes. Liz and I enjoyed the time to talk and enjoyed the time to hear each other. After two months, it was so good to hear from him. Now we just have to make it to Mother's Day. Yeah!

Sweetheart Dance

BHS' Sweetheart Dance was Saturday, Feb. 6.  The school decided on the theme of "Decades" this year. To go along with the theme, Elizabeth wore a dress that her Grandma Billings' wore during high school. With a little adjustment, this beautiful dress with antique rhinestone earrings and all she was ready. A couple of curls (uh, yeah, she was proud it took only 45 minutes), and a twisty do and she was ready to go.

A really good friend of hers, Taylor Hansen was her date, and they met up with a group for a day activity of marshmallow wars at a local church gym.  They made guns out of pvc pipe and decorated them with electrical tape.

After the day activity, she prettied up (now pictures), and Taylor picked her up. The dance was held at Rice Eccles Stadium overlooking the whole city.

They were home on time and from all the stories it was a wonderful dance.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Happy Groundhog Day!

P. Phil saw his shadow so we will have an extra 6 weeks of winter. Last year he saw his shadow, and we had the 50s and 60s in February. We'll have to see.
